I was able to read through some of the posts but not all. I have seen a few that might start home church but they are a little kookie...Not that all are. But there has to be headship. For example. Baby believers not willing to take instruction...Why even struggle with it when there is a lack of authority.

Our cell groups meet weekly for fellowship, study, and meals...We all shared together. Nothing wrong with it but l felt the lack of maturity from many. Not that l'm not willing to put my 2 censts worth in but if you aren't an authority people will just ignore you. I don't want to push issues to start fights so they just end up getting their way and it goes no place.

We have some really great teachers in our church but they aren't leading home church. I'd like to sit under Shekel... smile.gif Ontario's to far to drive...Any way.. It's a dream to have mature believers sit together to fellowship...but l don't see it happening in my small community any time soon except in cell groups.

Thank you Shekel this sounds very interesting to me

I think you will find that there will be an increase in these types of home churches as the established church starts losing its way.

Of course Ontario is a long way from England but I can pop in now and again!! lol

Thanks for the information! My family was part of a new church plant; after about 15 years, some very unfortunate things occured...we have stayed away from formal church settings, preferring to meet sporadically with others in the same boat. I have struggled with feeling guilty, like I am dishonoring
God in some way by not attending "church". This has been very helpful...(thanks also for all your amazing understanding...I can barely add, but i still love to read and learn).

Great site! I do not know why, but this site has been in my vision.
This is truly what Jesus would do and does. Amen.

For we can not do it without You, God.
I stand ashamed for what You see.
Only God coming down on His High Throne,
may open their eyes.
Then Jesus said: Ask and you will be given.
I am asking a long time now...

Hi Shekel,

We are located down the road from you in Montreal. We have a house-church network in the works. People are getting together. I would be interested in knowing more about your situation in T.O.

Shalom

thank you for the information we are doing this hear in australia my church is running a course threw our bible collage and we are having posative results and posative imput as my pastor shared this just before easter and we as a church are also looking at this model and how it could be of use in our city

the reason we are looking at this model and to were we can set up house churches is this we have seen how our cell groups have grown but their are a lot of familys that can not make it to the city as our church is situated in the heart of our city a lot of our members live out side of canberra and some live half an hour from church we are spread right out and when my pastor shared from his heart how he wanted to bring in change we all listened their are single people with no transport and sometimes it can be hard but if any one of us were willing to open up our homes the church will back us up

we wil have full support from the main church were the elders and the leadership guides us but the difrence is you have church in your own home were you bring in gods word have communion and encourage those with in your neighbour hood this way no one misses out and what an oppertunity to share the gospel

i am looking at doing this when i get back from the philippines after my weding as my partner has sevral members doing this were they have opened up their homes

though my question is this this is set up to help those in your part of the world i live in australia and i would like to connect with those that have opened up their homes and are doing this

has this helped you grow as a person have you been able to share the gospel in a posative way to were your neighbours are responding how open are people who are non belivers to house churches ?

this is what we are talking about every sunday afteernoon for those who are keen to take this on so far its just our church doing this but we hope other churches with in our city come on board

the courses threw our bible collage are austudy aproved that means the goverment pays you to study you can get your diploma in theology or creative arts or pastrol care our church also is raising up sevral from with in who feel the cal to evangelize and lead and teach

is this what most of you do in your part of the world or are you using a difrent way of training members who want to do this ?

would be intrested in hearing from those who are running house churches

god bless from damo

OBAMA the Antichrist? Several people I know are wondering aloud. First of all, he played the race card first, his wife said she was "embarassed to be an American". He refuses to say the Pledge of Allegiance, perhaps because it has the phrase"under GOD". His own pastor said"G--D---the United States from the pulpit and will attend the inaguration, perhaps even swearing him in Obama still stands by him and contributes money to his church. He also recently stated that he will close NASA. leaving China and Russia to dominate the space over us. Also putting 10,000
Americans out of jobs. In a recent debate, Obama stated that he will give illegal aliens drivers licenses and Social Security. Bankrupting Social Security and this will also give terrorists a valid ID as well. He voted to allow Credit cardc ompanies to increase interest rates to 30% if your credit rating drops, even if you make your card payments on time. He is the only candidate who has refused to meet with women concerned about healthcare and how it affects the 196million single people in this country. none of this is racist. don'tbelieve me, check it out yourself. re-watch the debates, read blogs and news stories about him from reliable sources.

I realize that this thread has been dead since April, but has anyone tried this video lately? It only ran for 33 seconds and had nothing else from user. Was that all there was to it to begin with? Thanks!

The Church I attend is called The Meeting House and while they have regular services on Sundays we have Home Churches throughout the week, right now the church has over 90 Home Churches and growing!
